I love how different all small children are. Some are super active, smiley or happy. Others are serious, cranky or determined. Some run and play from their early months and others just sit back and observe before they choose to leap into action. Yet, no matter what kind of child, they are all incredibly adorable in their own way and show the purity of human nature and complexity of life. Mackenzie is almost a year old and refuses to smile in public! However she was incredibly curious during our session and absolutely loved the doggies and people that were around us, as well as the beach and the water. Her and her mommy, Jessica, were a joy to photograph! Even though we didn't get many smiles from Mackenzie, we got plenty of great shots showing off both of their personalities! :) Sessions like this, with people that are so willing to show who they are on digital film, are my favourite :) Love this quote, and I'm hoping to win a camera through these guys haha. :) Courtesy of: SnapKnot - Find Local Wedding Photographers Kaija and Dustin's wedding was one of the funnest weddings I have ever been to. They are both incredibly fun, creative and caring people and those characteristics shone even stronger though their wedding party and the family that was around them. They chose to do some things in very non- traditional ways, such as Kaija choosing a red wedding dress and white Bridesmaid's dresses, and the Dustin and his groomsman dressing with super hero t-shirts under their tuxes. These are exactly the kind of details that I love! It allows for so many beautiful and colorful candid moments when people are willing to be their silly and fun selves. These pictures turned out well because of their ideas and creativity. I'm so appreciative to this couple for choosing me as their photographer and giving me a chance, even though I don't have a lot of wedding experience :) I also want to give a big shout out to my wonderful assistant and sister from another mister, Coral, for doing an incredible job. She helped the bridal party out with their finished details, helped me with my creative vision, and lugged around a bunch of my gear for the day. Things definitely would have run a lot less smoothly without her being part of the crew, so thanks a lot Coral! I am just putting the finished touches on Dustin and Kaija's wedding photos and couldn't help but share some before the finished product! So here is a sneak peek and some extra photos I haven't posted on Facebook :)

Sometimes, as a photographer, you are lucky enough to capture numerous exciting moments in people's lives. Nicole and Will are two people who I have been able to do this with. They gave me my first chance at being a wedding photographer at their wedding last year, and almost a year later I have been blessed with the opportunity to photograph Nicole and her beautiful baby belly! As I was writing this blog post I checked on Facebook to find that Nicole has just given birth to a beautiful baby girl named Abigail! Congrats Nicole! Can't wait to meet the little one!
